| Protein Function | RASA3 (or GTPase Activating Protein III, R-Ras GTPase-activating protein, GAP1(IP4BP)) is a GTPase activating protein of the GAP1 subfamily which targets Ras and Rap1. |
|---|
| Biochemical Properties | The RASA3 protein structure is identical in man and mouse: 2 C2 domains, C2A and C2B, at the N-terminal end of the protein, a central GTPase activating protein (GAP) catalytic domain and a carboxy-terminal pleckstrin homology (PH) domain followed by a Bruton tyrosine kinase (Btk) motif, named the PH/Btk domain. Interestingly, the RASA3 central catalytic domain contains a GAP consensus sequence, F-L-R-X3-P-A-X3-P, which is active on both Ras and Rap1, but not on members of the Rab, Rac or Rho family |
