Protein Function Pantothenate kinases (PanK) are the regulatory enzymes that control the rate of CoA biosynthesis and the concentration of intracellular CoA.
Biochemical Properties There are four characterized isoforms of PanK, PanK1α, PanK1β, PanK2 and PanK3.All four proteins share homologous catalytic core domains of approximately 350 amino acids. The enzymes function as homodimers with two equivalent active sites formed by a head-to-tail juxtaposition of the monomers. PanK3 and PanK1β contain only the catalytic core domain
