The region's main role is to mediate DNA binding, dimerization, and co-factor interactions.Adjacent to the MEF2 domain is the HJURP-C (Holliday junction recognition protein C-terminal) domain, consisting of 29 amino acids.The NLS domain (nuclear localization signal) is located at the C-terminus of MEF2C, which controls nuclear translocation of the protein. |
