Secondary Information

Protein Function  Apurinic/apyrimidinic endonuclease 2 (APE2) is a critical molecule, which upregulates in the proximal tubule cells (PTC) following cisplatin-induced nuclear DNA and mitochondrial DNA damage in cisplatin-treated C57B6J mice
Biochemical Properties  Schizosaccharomyces pombe AP endonuclease, Apn2, binds to the inter-domain connector located between the N- and C-terminal domains of Myh1. This Myh1 inter-domain connector also interacts with the Hus1 subunit of the Rad9-Rad1-Hus1 checkpoint clamp.

Predicted Disorder Regions 355-461, 496-502
DisProt Annotation
TM Helix Prediction No TM helices
Additional Comments APE2 has the potential to prevent acute kidney injury in patients with cisplatin-treated cancer.
