Protein Function  Deoxyhypusine hydroxylase (DOHH) is a fundamental enzyme catalyzing a unique posttranslational hypusination modification of eukaryotic translation initiation factor 5A (eIF5A) and is highly involved in the progression of several human diseases, including HIV-1 infection, cancer, malaria, and diabetes.
Biochemical Properties DOHH comprises a pseudosymmetric arrangement of an N-terminal domain (DOHH-N, amino acids 1–151) and a C-terminal domain (DOHH-C, amino acids 152–302), each consisting of four HEAT repeats (α-hairpins) for a total of 16 α-helices.
