| Significance of PTMs | When overexpressed in endothelial cells in vitro, Tie-1 is found to be tyrosine-phosphorylated,which probably upregulates VCAM-1, E-selectin, and ICAM-1, partly through a p38-dependent mechanism.regulated proteolytic cleavage which results in 2 fragments one is of 135kD which is fully glycosylated surface expressed receptor and and smaller one 46kD which corresponds to intracellular signaling. |
