Biochemical Properties Reaction 1-peptidylglycine is converted to peptidyl alpha hydroxy glycine by PHM(peptidylglycine a-hydroxylating monooxygenase), which furthur converted to peptide alpha amide and glycoxylate.1st reaction requires copper,O2,ascorbate. And 2nd reaction is catalysed by peptidyl-a-hydroxyglycine alpha-amidating lyase(PAL) in alkaline pH.
