Secondary Information

Protein Function β-SNAP(synaptosomal proteins) is known to bind to the SNAP receptors and is therefore involved in the control of neurotransmitter release as well as in constitutive vesicular transport.
Biochemical Properties SNAPs recruit the N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor to the membrane after being bound to specific membrane receptors termed soluble N-ethylmaleimide sensitive factor attachment protein receptors (SNAREs), which is a prerequisite of membrane fusion. β-SNAP is a key functional partner with Vti1a, Vamp, Snap, Napa, Stx1a, Stx7, Stx5a, Bnip1, Ykt6 and Cplx1.
