Secondary Information

Protein Function Follistatin-like protein-1 (FSTL-1) is considered to be an adipokine or myokine that could be a potential regulator of metabolism.
Biochemical Properties Follistatin-related protein (FSRP) also named as follistatin like gene (Fstl), reported at least three members of FST-like gene. FSRP-1 and FSRP-3 have been identified in Chinese perch but their function was not clear. Although distantly related in amino acid sequence, they are classified as the FST family according to the presence of a 10-cysteine repeat structure, which is termed as the “FS” domain.Chinese perch FST and FSRP-1 share 37.68% similarity at the nucleotide level and 13.15% similarity at the AA level.
