Biochemical Properties IκB kinase (IKK) complex is considered as a master regulator of NF-κB signaling, which contains two homologous catalytic subunits IKKα and IKKβ and a regulatory subunit NEMO (also known as IKKγ). IKKα and IKKβ have similar structure, comprising of an N-terminal kinase domain, a helix-loop-helix that functions in modulating IKK kinase activity, and a leucine zipper, whose role is to regulate homo- or heterodimerization of the kinases, followed by an NEMO‐binding domain (NBD).
